St. Patrick School
St. Patrick School is chartered by the State of Ohio Education Department and follows core curriculum guidelines of the state as integrated with the Graded Course of Study developed by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Catholic Schools Office.
Established in 1888, St. Patrick Catholic Parish School currently enrolls 145 students in grades K - 6 with an average class size of 20 and 1 class per grade level.  Teachers aides assist in grades K - 1 - 2.

Religious Education
The practices of our Catholic teachings take priority over everything else we do at St. Patrick Catholic School.  Religion classes are offered four days a week to all students in a formal atmosphere.  Our faith beliefs are also interwoven where appropriate within all instruction throughout the school day.  All classes will attend Mass at least once during a regular school week.  The students have the opportunity to plan and participate in all liturgies.  

School Day
St. Patrick School begins at 8:30 a.m. and dismisses at 3:15 p.m. including an all day kindergarten program.

Academics
HONOR ROLL and AWARDS:  Criteria for honor roll is as follows - First and Second honors will be awarded each grading periods to grades 4-5-6.  Grades 4-5-6 are eligible for achievement awards.  The Honor Roll will be figured on the point system.  First Honors: 3.5 - 4.0         Second Honors   3.0 - 3.4  

The Achievement Award will be awarded each grading period to any student demonstrating outstanding achievement or performance in a particular subject area. 

SACC (School Age Child Care)
In order to meet the needs of working parents and continue the developmental needs of children from Kindergarten through sixth grade, St. Patrick School has chosen to provide a school-age child care program for students who are enrolled in our school.  Each day, time is available for students to be given opportunities for enrichment.  All students will be supervised by qualified and caring personnel.
School Age Child Care is housed in the St. Patrick Community Center and only operates when school is in session.  Hours of operation are 7:00 a.m. - 8:15 a.m. for before school  and 3:15 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. for after school.  This program is licensed by the State of Ohio Department of Education and approved by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.   

Standardized and Non-Teacher Prepared Tests
Terrra Nova
tests are administered in the fall of each school year to grades 2-4-6.  Results are sent to parents in addition to being published in the local paper.
Teacher constructed tests, both essay and objectives, will be used in the classroom testing procedures.
Competence Bases Education Policy: St. Patrick Catholic School, in compliance with the State of Ohio's mandated testing policy, administers yearly the CBE Grade 3 Writing Sample Evaluation, to students in grade 3.  St. Patrick Catholic School will comply with this mandate and follow the Competence Based Education guidelines as well as the testing dates established by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. 

Technology
St. Patrick Catholic School utilizes a 31 workstation computer lab.  All 45 computers in the building are networked and have internet access.  Software consists of programs for math, social studies, science, reading, English and keyboarding.  The computer lab is used as an enhancement tool to the classroom curriculum.

Library 
St. Patrick School's extensive library is available to all students.  Classes are scheduled in the library each week and St. Patrick School uses the Accelerated Reader Program to encourage reading. 

Extracurricular Activities
St. Patrick Catholic School offers Instrumental Band for grades 4 - 5 - 6 and a Bell Chimes Choir.

Other Opportunities
Art, music and physical education are provided weekly to students in grades K - 6.  At St. Patrick's, students participate in classroom field trips, the D. A. R. E. Program sponsored by the local police department, various special programs that are brought to the school, Field Day, and two music programs - at Christmas and in the spring.  The Parish is involved in certain CYO after school sports activities that the students are invited to join as age appropriate.

Special Needs
St. Patrick School is handicap accessible and provides a full-time tutor and part-time speech pathologist all students in need.

Transportation
Troy Public Schools provide transportation to all Troy students.  Any student outside Troy must provide their own transportation.

Home and School Association
St. Patrick School has an active Home and School Association which helps with funding for the school.
