Elementary
Faith Formation Coordinator
Promote and provide administrative leadership
for St. Patrick’s Elementary Faith Formation Program for youth in
grades 1 through 6.
The candidate should be a prayerful and active Catholic; who loves
children; and encourages knowledge of their Catholic faith. The
candidate must pass Archdiocesan background checks and Child
Protection Decree orientation. The candidate’s presence is required
for this program which is held on Tuesday evenings (generally 32
sessions from late August through April); must be flexible for
evening/weekend activities.
This is a part time
position (fewer than 20 hours per week) with no benefits.
Responsibilities include but not
limited to:
· Opening &
closing of buildings on session dates
· Recruiting
& supervision of volunteer teachers
· Coordinates
registration and collection of fees
· Manages
Class assignments
· Ordering
curriculum materials & classroom supplies
· Scheduling
& coordinating facilities for classes & activities
· Participate
in Parish staff meetings
· Provide
teacher support & resources
· Promote
&
encourage teacher certification
· Perform
teacher/classroom observation & feedback
· Support and assist with 2nd
grade sacramental preparation and reception
· Support, plan and communicate parish’s
faith-filled
activities and events
Candidate should possess:
· Good communication and
supervisory skills
· Organization, administration, basic
computer knowledge and technical skills
Education, training
and/or experience:
· Minimum
– high school diploma.
· Theology
studies in Catechesis/Education
· Experience
as a catechist
· Should
have Basic level of catechetical certification and is actively
pursuing the
Advanced level of Catechetical certification.
